My Literary novel Notes From the White Room is to be published by Transit Lounge in 2027. I have long been impressed with the authors and works on Transit Lounge’s list and I am beyond chuffed to be included in such company.
A little about the book:
Notes From the White Room is an exploration of leaving in order to belong. Hunter is something of a lost soul, searching for her missing mother. Despite eventually flourishing in her artistic career, she holds an ache of loss deep within her.
Hunter’s story unfolds through the prism of other people’s experiences for, in the end, what are any of us but the dust of our interactions?
The original inspiration for the work came from Wilfredo Prieto’s Untitled (White Library), which forms part of the permanent collection at Hobart’s MONA. But inspiration was plucked from other sources too, including from my own global travels.
Some words from Transit Lounge’s founder and publisher, Barry Scott:
“I instantly fell in love with the character of Hunter in this assured and literary novel.”
AND
“The novel embodies the truth and complexity of a life, but it does so with such nuance and ease that it effortlessly carried me with it.”
Words to lift an author, for sure.
Oh, Karen, I am beyond thrilled about this. I can’t wait to hold this novel in my hands!!
Thank you so much, Lisa. I can’t wait to see it in your hands!
There’s never enough Literary Fiction. I’m looking forward to it (I’d better make a note in the back of my diary)
I’m sure I will be shouting it from the rooftops when the time comes! Thank you.
