Karenlee Thompson is an Australian writer of fiction, non-fiction and poetry. Her alter-ego KD Aldyn writes Thrillers.

Karenlee is the author of the bushfire-themed collection of short Fictions (Flame Tip) and her work has appeared in various publications around the world including The Fish Anthology, Sonder Magazine, and The Big Issue. She has been shortlisted for the ‘Hal Porter Short Story Prize’, ‘The Scottish Arts Trust Awards’, and three times for the ‘Tasmanian Writers Prize’.

Her non-fiction has been published in The Weekend Australian, Antipodes: a North American Journal of Australian Literature and Writing Queensland with memoir pieces placed in The Big Issue and The Lane Cove Literary Award Anthology.

She has won some minor poetry awards, including the 2018 ‘Blue Knot Foundation Award’ in the Hunter Writers Grieve Project for her poem ‘Hashtag’.

Karenlee is passionate about reading and writing the Australian voice and has provided numerous author talks and story writing workshops. She has a degree in English Literature and Journalism.

When in Australia, she bases herself in Tasmania or Queensland by turns but she can generally be found wandering the globe, collecting story pebbles.
