RITE OF SPRING by Kris Kneen

If you are a fan of Kris Kneen’s writing, you might come to Rite of Spring for the erotica. And, yes, there’s plenty of that. But this book is so much more. I think of it as an allegory for bodily change and transformation. Through the central character of Miranda, Kneen invites the reader to ponder the body: its changeability, its connection to the inner self, and its outline shifting within the confines of a sometimes static world. I was surprised to find myself crying, unsure if the tears were of joy or sadness. And swimming will never be the same.

Please let this not be a dream.
