THE HOLLOW GIRL by Lyn Yeowart
I loved Lyn Yeowart’s first book, ‘The Silent Listener’ and so I came to ‘The Hollow Girl’ with high expectations. Thankfully, I was not disappointed. The blurb intro sets the scene:
HARROWFORD HALL
A safe haven for lost girls? Or a breeding ground for revenge?
Harrowford Hall is aptly named. It is, indeed, a harrowing place, and Yeowart takes us deep into the place, into this refuge for ‘girls in crisis’, and into the hearts of so many women who were denied a voice.
“His terror is betrayed by the cracked mosaic of the last words that emerge from his mouth. ‘But what have I ever done to you?'”
What has he done? What have they all done? And what will become of them? The story is unsettling in its authenticity. Extremely hard to put down.
